Race to Witch Mountain (2009) Review

Race to Witch Mountain is a 2009 American science fiction adventure thriller film directed by Andy Fickman and stars Dwayne Johnson, AnnaSophia Robb, Alexander Ludwig, Ciarán Hinds and Carla Gugino.
The film is a live-action remake of the 1975 Disney live-action film, Escape to Witch Mountain, which is based on the 1968 novel of the same name by Alexander Key. It was Disney's third film adaptation of the novel; the second was Escape to Witch Mountain (1995).
Filming began in Los Angeles in March 2008. It was released on March 13, 2009.
It is Johnson's second collaboration with Fickman, following The Game Plan, which was also a live-action movie released by Disney.
An alien spacecraft crashes near Searchlight, Nevada, 45 miles outside of Las Vegas. Project Moon Dust, a secret Defense Department unit led by Henry Burke, arrive at the scene of the crash in black helicopters. Men in black seize the spaceship and search for its passengers with the intention of harnessing their DNA and powers.
Back in Vegas, Jack Bruno, a former mob get-away driver, drives a cab to avoid returning to jail. One of his passengers is Dr. Alex Friedman, a failed astrophysicist who has come to Las Vegas to speak at a UFO convention at the Planet Hollywood hotel.

The Incredible Hulk (2008) Review

The Incredible Hulk is a 2008 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character the Hulk. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Universal Pictures, it is the second film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
It was directed by Louis Leterrier from a screenplay by Zak Penn, and stars Edward Norton as Bruce Banner alongside Liv Tyler, Tim Roth, Tim Blake Nelson, Ty Burrell, and William Hurt.
In the film, Bruce Banner becomes the Hulk as an unwitting pawn in a military scheme to reinvigorate the "Super-Soldier" program through gamma radiation. Banner goes on the run from the military while attempting to cure himself of the Hulk.
After the mixed reception to Universal's 2003 film Hulk, Marvel Studios reacquired the rights to the character though Universal retained distribution rights. Leterrier, who had expressed interest in directing Iron Man for Marvel, was brought onboard and Penn began work on a script that would be much closer to the comics and the 1978 television series of the same name.
In April 2007, Norton was hired to portray Banner and to rewrite Penn's screenplay. His script positioned the film as a reboot of the series, distancing it from the 2003 film to give the new version its own identity.
Norton was ultimately not credited for his writing. Filming took place from July to November 2007, primarily in Toronto, Canada, with additional filming in New York City and Rio de Janeiro. Over 700 visual effects shots were created in post-production using a combination of motion capture and computer-generated imagery to complete the film.

Hall Pass (2011) Review

Hall Pass is a 2011 American comedy film produced and directed by the Farrelly brothers and co-written by them along with Pete Jones,[3] the writer/director of Stolen Summer. It stars Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis.
Rick and Fred, two husbands who are having difficulty in their marriages, are given hall passes by their wives: for one week, they are allowed to have sex with other women.
It was theatrically released on February 25, 2011. The film received mixed critical reviews and was a moderate box office success by grossing over $83 million.
Best friends Rick and Fred are in stagnant marriages with their wives, Grace and Maggie. Rick and Fred miss their single days, so Grace and Maggie give them a "hall pass": a week during which they can have sex with other women.
Rick and Fred try to pick up women with their friends Gary, Flats, and Hog Head while Maggie and Grace decide they should get hall passes, too.
On day one of hall pass week, Rick and Fred decide to eat before going to a local bar but become too tired to stay.
On day two, they eat hash brownies and play golf but get too high and wreak havoc on the golf course.

Nannaku Prematho (2016) Review

Nannaku Prematho (transl. To father, with love) is a 2016 Indian Telugu-language action thriller film written and directed by Sukumar and produced by B. V. S. N. Prasad under Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra, Bhogavalli Bapineedu and Reliance Entertainment.
The film, set up in London, features NTR Jr. and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead roles, while Jagapathi Babu and Rajendra Prasad play supporting roles.
This film will be remade in bengali as Baazi starring Jeet and Mimi in the lead. Nannaku Prematho marks the 25th film of N. T. Rama Rao Jr. as an actor.
Devi Sri Prasad has composed the film's music and background score. The cinematography was provided by Vijay C Chakravarthy, and Naveen Nooli edited the film. Principal photography commenced in August 2015.
The audio launch of this film was held on 27 December 2015. This film was released worldwide on 13 January 2016.

The Last Song (2010) Review

The Last Song is a 2010 American coming-of-age teen romantic drama film developed alongside Nicholas Sparks' 2009 novel of the same name. The film was directed by Julie Anne Robinson in her feature film directorial debut and co-written by Sparks and Jeff Van Wie.The
Last Song stars Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth, and Greg Kinnear, and follows a troubled teenager as she reconnects with her estranged father and falls in love during a summer in a quiet Southern United States beach town.
Sparks was approached to write both the film's screenplay and the novel. Sparks completed the screenplay in January 2009, prior to the completion of the novel, making The Last Song his first script to be optioned for film.
The setting, originally in North Carolina like the novel, relocated to Georgia after the states had campaigned for months to host production. Upon beginning production in Tybee Island, Georgia, and nearby Savannah, The Last Song became the first movie to be both filmed and set in Tybee Island.
Filming lasted from June 15 to August 18, 2009, with much of it occurring on the island's beach and pier.
The Last Song was released by Touchstone Pictures on March 31, 2010. The film garnered negative reviews from critics, with many criticizing the script and Cyrus's performance, but grossed $89 million worldwide against a $20 million budget making it a box office success.
It was released on Blu-ray and DVD on August 17, 2010.

Guru (2007) Review

Guru is a 2007 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed and co-written by Mani Ratnam.
It stars Mithun Chakraborty, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Madhavan, Vidya Balan, and Roshan Seth in the leading roles, with Mallika Sherawat in a guest appearance. The score and soundtrack for the film was composed by A. R. Rahman.
The film is largely based on the life of one of India's biggest industrial tycoons, Dhirubhai Ambani. The film was released on 12 January 2007 with its première at the Elgin Theatre in Toronto, Canada, on Thursday 11 January 2007 by Roger Nair, making it the first Indian film to have a mainstream international première in Canada.
Roger Nair productions acquired the rights for Canada and held a premiere with most of the cast and crew flown to Toronto, Canada.
The film was premiered in the Tous Les Cinemas du Monde (World Cinema) section of 2007 Cannes Film Festival.
